The careers of these musicians encompass a dazzling variation of musical directions, from South Indian music to metal and even opera. Consequently, their acoustic trio is inspired by adventurous music in the broadest sense. Alto sax and bass clarinet player Tobias Klein is a member of the electric avant-jazz/metal band Spinifex alongside bass player Gonçalo Almeida. Drummer Martin van Duynhoven is a household name in Dutch jazz since the 1960s. Tobias Klein composed the lion’s share of their album Vibrate in Sympathy, including tributes to his great examples on alto sax, Henry Threadgill, Ornette Coleman and Oliver Lake.

‘Klein’s simple, heartfelt and honest alto, Almeida singing on bass and Duynhoven’s little breaks using the brushes... the trio plays honest and forthright improvised music to which I will gladly listen to in the future’ (Salt Peanuts, Norway).
