In this concert he will perform with singer and mandolin player Chris Thile, a well-known player in the bluegrass and Americana world. As different as they appear to be, they find a connection in their imaginative interpretations of divergent music, from bebop to Irish folk and from Bob Dylan to Radiohead. Their recent US tour as a duo was a huge success.

The New York Times praised their live show and described it as ‘a balance of enthusiastic risk and intuitive accord.’ Brad Mehldau has sold out both the Bimhuis and Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ. With his world famous trio he combines standards to bold interpretations of songs by Radiohead and Nirvana. In enchanting concerts which can be characterized as narrative. Last season Chris Thile played music by Bach and others for a full Bimhuis.
